MEET Alan Bern

Retired children’s librarian Alan Bern has published three books of poetry. Half a century ago he cofounded broadside press/publisher Lines & Faces with artist/printer Robert Woods. Oh yes, he is obsessed with Italia: he worked with classicist Donald Carne-Ross on translating from Italian. Alan also photographs and has begun to combine his photos and words as a part of his daily art practice. Clearly, Alan favors hybridity and complex collaborations: he performs with the dancer/choreographer Lucinda Weaver along with musicians and light artists as PACES: dance & poetry fit to the space and also with musicians from Composing Together.
