by GREGORY D. WELCH
At Sunset
the night sky is a collision
between the moon and the falling darkness
like two pieces of flint, banged together
until star sparks fly across the void
feeding the hungry vast ocean of emptiness
a billion rolling flicks of light
to fill the night sky
when dawn rolls around
the sparks catch fire and burn
with day bright daybreak
At Sunrise
