I have a fantasy by Christa Lubatkin

I have a fantasy

I have a fantasy

by Christa Lubatkin

a fantasy of one day
getting everything done

to finally wander
the high plateau
unencumbered
free
to meet myself

pause
in quiet hours
stand still
with who I am

sit with you
cradle you when you’re down
beam back your shy smile
when you’ve stepped
from the track
into the flow

and when I return
to the lockstep of my life
the grocer
the dishes in the sink
the pleasant distractions
of swimming pools
movie nights
and dance recitals

my hands will be steady
with new intentions
my ears alert

my heart
open to wander again
in sacred terrain

  1. Just beautiful, Christa! Many of us can relate!

  2. Christa, this is wonderful. I can see and hear you. Love the illustration too.

  3. Love this. It’s funny that I should see your fantasy because my niece wrote today and was writing of her fantasy for a quiet place by the sea. I wrote my fantasy of walking in the woods, sitting by a lake and listening, quietly of the birds in the quiet. ❤️❤️❤️

  4. Is this a book you are writing or have written? Or is it that your poem appeared in a book. Either way congratulations and I love this. Love it love it love it.
